TerraCycle Fashions a New Life for Old WrappersBy Gwendolyn Bounds, The Wall Street Journal, July 1, 2008Up cycling, a step beyond recycling is what TerraCycle is practicing when they fashion umbrellas, tote bags, lunch boxes, and other useable items from used packaging for products like Oreo and Chips Ahoy! Cookies, or Kool-Aid and Capri Sun drinks. These fashion accessories will soon be found in Target stores, Office Max, and Walgreen stores. Companies like Kraft Foods may even consider adding the TerraCycle logo to their packaging of the 597 million-plus packages of Oreo and Chips Ahoy!, giving the Up cycling company coveted advertising space and the food producer gets a green boost.
