The top filigree is open to
take a pearl or stone for earrings, pendants, rings,
or it will make a lovely
egg stand for Faberge style eggs of smaller scale.

perfect 5/8" fit.
The rounded side walls are just right for cabochons, epoxy, or resin fill.
A well made simple setting, use for
pendants, rings, lapel pins,
hat pins, altered art, even for buttons.

from a piece that makes all the difference,
and the octagonal center pierce of
these two large (nearly 3-inch) filigrees is a good example.
