A plant that prefers a
cooler climate, the larkspur is named after the shape of its flower,
which resembles the claw of a bird.
Another flower with roots
in Greek mythology, the story of the Larkspur is that after Achille’s death
during the Battle of Troy, his armor was to go the the most valiant remaining
warrior. When it was awarded to Ulysses, Ajax threw himself on his sword, and
the larkspur grew from his drops of blood spilled on the ground.
